Dr. Damaskopoulos holds a MA and a PhD in international political economy with a specialization in global finance and comparative financial systems from York University, Toronto, Canada. Prior to joining INSEAD Dr. Damaskopoulos was Assistant Professor of international political economy at York University and Chief of Studies at the Paris-based Reed-Midem Organization (Reed Elsevier). His current research concentrates on the dialectical interaction of change in financial markets, ICT-enabled organizational change and the management of organizational capital. Central aspects of this research field concern the analysis of economic, technological and organizational dynamics of business model innovation, organizational learning capabilities and change management, and the evolution of corporate strategies in the information-based economy.
Lecturing and speaking at international symposia on the knowledge-based economy, the management of organizational capital, knowledge management, change management, and customer relationship management.
Currently Dr. Damaskopoulos is leading an INSEAD initiative to organize a Transatlantic Roundtable to address strategic issues of innovation – in particular, issues of technological and organizational change and strategy. The purpose of the Roundtable is to advance the state of knowledge of the dynamics of innovation in the financial services industry. More specifically, the goal of the initiative is to assist high-level executives map out key changes in the emerging business environment and analyze the forces that drive the process of innovation in the new economy.
