Deliverables

• D3.1 Implementation of the attentive agent components (early prototypes) – M12 - Confidential

  • An early prototype of the Atgentive modules will be integrated in to the two platforms.

• D3.2 Implementation of the prototypes AtGentSchool and AtGentNet – M16 - Public, with confidential sections

  • The final Atgentive modules will be integrated in the two platforms which will be ready for the pilot.

Objectives

The objective of this WP is to implement the attentive agent framework as designed in WP2 and to incorporate it into the two platforms, Ontdeknet and ICDT platform. The platforms will be adapted to for the modular integration of the attentive agent components: the attention detection component, the agent reasoning component and the agent intervention component.

The prototypes of AtGentSchool and AtGentNet are developed. Extensive testing procedures are incorporated in this WP to ensure successful pilots. The user interaction with the agent is validated by means of eye-tracking technology. This will validate the functioning of the attention reasoning component as well as the agent intervention component.

Description of work

• T3.1: Implementation preparation, methodology & plan. Technical approaches are analysed and technical decisions are taken, the development methodology (XP based) is clarified and an implementation plan (for both the components and the e-learning platforms) is elaborated.
• T3.2 Implementation of the attention recognition component, the agent reasoning component and the agent intervention component. The different components are developed according to the specifications in WP2. Central to this iterative development process will be the modularity and flexibility of the components.
• T3.3: Global integration and technical testing for two pilots. The different components of AtGentive will be integrated in the collaborative e-learning platforms, resulting in first prototypes of AtGentSchool and AtGentNet. Elaboration of the general user’s documentation (integated as much as possible into the platform).
• T3.4: Implementation, setting-up and execution of the validation of the user interaction using eye-tracking. The prototypes will be validated in user tests in which eye-tracking technology will play and important role to asses the functioning of the different components with the AtGentSchool and AtGentNet environment.

Milestones and expected result

• M3.1? first delivery of components – M12

  • An early prototype of the Atgentive modules will be integrated in to the two platforms. This will provide the other partner with a rough overview of the possibilities to romance with the preparation of the pilots.

• M3.2? working prototype - M16

  • The final Atgentive modules will be integrated in the two platforms, which will be ready for the pilot.
