Course Objectives
In this course we will review and discuss selected Web Trends global organizations can leverage to improve the efficiency and quality of their internal processes, as well as their competitiveness and innovative ways of doing business.
Our goal is to develop a good understanding of:
- emerging Web-based services which are likely to further shape and transform how global organizations operate, and particularly design their communication, collaboration and knowledge management and innovation processes;
- Web-enabled trends in selected industries (banking, gambling, and mobile services) and society;
- relevant experiences in large companies like Cisco or Xerox as well as small innovative companies like Kartoo (www.kartoo.com)
Summary of Course Content and Sessions Topics
To emphasize the managerial perspective adopted in this course, the first session will illustrate the critical role of IT and current Web Trends in a global organization like Cisco, helping the students to understand the link between opportunities created by such trends and business strategy, efficiency, as well as organizational culture. This session will include the intervention of a speaker from Cisco. ….
